About the event
Gardeners looking to improve their harvest will learn the difference between soil and dirt along with the different soil types. This presentation covers reasons for soil testing and its benefits, how to amend soil, how to garden in clay, and dealing with contaminated soil.
This class is presented by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Albany County Master Gardener John Martin. After settling in with retirement, John decided to find a way to give back to the community. In 2018, John completed the Master Gardener training and started volunteering. He has been gardening, growing flowers, herbs, and vegetables over the last 35 years and through trial and error has found what works for him. John merged his experiences with research based gardening practices to develop presentations. He enjoys helping communities and individuals learn to garden and take care of the environment. John taught many classes here this Spring at the Gade Farm and we are thrilled that he will be back with this new and important class!
This is a FREE event, but you must RSVP so that we can have enough chairs, materials and DONUTS for the class!
