About the event
Do you know you can extend your vegetable harvest into the late fall and even through the long frigid
winter months? Fall succession planting of cold hardy plants such as salad greens, parsley and chard as
well as extending the harvest of root crops into the winter months, will allow you to harvest vegetables
all year long. And you can get an early start on the spring growing season. You will be the only person
in your neighborhood picking wonderful herbs and salad greens from your garden while being knee
deep in snow. Come learn what vegetable and herb varieties you can plant, when to plant them, and
what protection works best. Â This class will be taught by Pam Molle and Dave Peterson- SUPER Gardeners and Gade Farm Customers.
Since gardening with their parents as children, Pam and Dave have been a home gardeners for many
decades. Over that time they have experimented with various styles of home gardens and a wide variety
of plants. In the last 10 years, Pam came to recognize the value and ease of winter gardening. Dave’s
heart lies in building things and as a result he has built numerous different styles of cold frames to
support their winter gardening efforts.
This is a FREE class- but you must RSVP so that we have enough chairs, materials, and DONUTS!
